Deze nieuwe 3D-platformer is zojuist aangekondigd tijdens de THQ Nordic stream.
De ontwikkelaar is Purple Lamp Studios die ook de vorig jaar verschenen remake van Battle for Bikini Bottom gemaakt hebben.
Het spel komt naar de PS4, Xbox One, PC en Switch.

But Kassandra has her own devious plan…

Het spel staat nu ook bij ons in de database en lijkt een MSRP van €39,99 te krijgen. Hij is zelfs al voor minder te vinden. Hopelijk krijgen we snel gameplay te zien!

Battle for Bikini Bottom was imo erg leuk, alleen je merkte wel dat het een opgepoetste versie van een oud spel was (wat ze overigens sierde, want dat is een cultklassieker). Diezelfde studio maakt nu deze gloednieuwe 3D platformer, dus ik hoop dat ze die gameplay met dit deel een beetje het moderne tijdperk in tillen.
Met de trailer doen ze in ieder geval al veel goeds. Heel veel callbacks naar de eerste 3 seizoenen, wat de fan favorite seizoenen zijn, dus ze weten in ieder geval goed wie hun doelgroep is.

Ook wel een beetje een gemiste kans.

Het is een kleine studio en het is nou niet alsof het spel de kracht van de PS5 nodig heeft. Rehydrated draaide gewoon 60 fps op de PS4 en dit nieuwe deel ziet er qua fidelity nagenoeg hetzelfde uit. Dus waarom dan extra tijd en moeite steken in een native PS5-versie als de PS4-versie ook gewoon op die hardware draait? Dat kost weer budget en mankracht wat ook in het spel zelf gestoken kan worden.
Misschien gaan ze er na de release wel mee bezig.

Gameplay ziet er goed uit, ik ben enthousiast! Wel jammer dat er veel assets uit BFBB zijn gerecycled. Die gekke dozen met gezichten heb ik nooit echt passend gevonden namelijk. Is dat uit de cartoon? Budgetpaardje (28812 reacties)

Voor dit soort titels vind ik het nog best veel. Als die voor 20 of minder is dan overweeg ik het wel. Is maar een THQ game die dalen net zo snel als Ubisoft titels.
